Valencia Orange - 3 Gallon - GRAFTED
 Description
The Valencia is known as King of the Juice oranges and is the most widely planted juice orange in the world. In 1877, E. H. Hart of Federal Point, Florida first declared it as being a late maturing variety and thus named it 'Hart's Tardif'. Plants were also sent to California in 1876, where a visiting Spanish citrus expert recognized it as the 'Naranja tarde de Valencia' and the cultivar became known as 'Valencia Late', and caught on in California as such in 1887. By 1913, Valencia had been adopted in both California and Florida as the official name of the cultivar. Valencia produces excellent quality fruit from late March through June, is considered seedless and will even hold its fruit well on the tree throughout the summer. Fruits have a very high sugar content, superior flavor and perfect orange coloring at maturity. Fruits will grow to about the size of a baseball. The Valencia is self-fertile, prefers full sun and withstands temperatures to 27 degrees, or lower. Trees will reach 20 feet in as many years. A favorite at Jené's Tropicals.
