Dwarf Hamlin Orange - 3 Gallon - GRAFTED
 Description
Hamlin is the leading early-season juice orange in Florida. The parent tree was a seedling planted in a grove in Deland, Florida, (near Daytona Beach) in 1879 by Judge Isaac Stone. Later the grove was sold to A. G. Hamlin and flowing the big freezes of 1894-95 extensive bud grafting was performed to greatly increase the numbers of Hamlin. This cultivar ripens from October to January. They are considered commercially seedless (0-6 seeds per fruit). Hamlin's annual yield is the highest and most consistent of all sweet oranges. It was the most extensively planted, early season, orange in Florida during the 1980's and 1990's. The dwarf trees are grafted onto Flying Dragon dwarfing rootstock (Poncirus trifoliata) syn. (Citrus trifoliate). Even though the tree will grow bushy and small in stature (to 10 feet), it will produce an abundance of full-sized, luscious fruits about the size of a baseball. Trees rarely grow more than 6 feet tall when potted.
